And with tourism and travel responsible for 11% of the world's global carbon emissions, we have a duty to ensure we act responsibly and sustainably. As a value-lead business, we want to continually build and evolve how we interact with our world, the people in it, and be as proactive as possible to determine what more we can do.
We believe that a better world will rely on a global culture based on collaboration. Partnering with key bodies and organisations allows The Set Collection properties to operate ethically and sustainably whilst being held accountable for our contribution to a Sustainably Composed society.

As part of our broader actions to a more Sustainably Composed experience, we have partnered with CHOOOSE, a global carbon measuring and offsetting platform. In a world first for a hotel group, this enables The Set Collection to offset the emissions of our guest’s next stay in our properties, whilst contributing to meaningful projects globally to ensure the preservation of our planet.
Seamlessly Applied
Unlike many other carbon offsetting schemes, no action is required by our guests. The Set Collection will carbon offset each stay automatically when booked directly with us in any of our destinations, without any need to opt in, and without any extra cost to guests – all costs will be voluntarily met by The Set Collection.
Directly Contributing
Carbon-offset financing via CHOOOSE directly supports carefully chosen climate projects verified by the most comprehensive and stringent international standards, and contributes to the achievement of multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals, improving ecological values and social benefits for those hardest hit by climate change.

As a business that is conscious of our impact on the environment, we hold ourselves accountable by working with Chooose to offset all business travel conducted by our internal teams – after all, we’re part of this too.

Water Conservation
Our properties employ a variety of nature and water conservation tactics to reduce use and improve on quality. From dual flush toilets to repurposing water for our sprinkler systems and as irrigation water, each destination is dedicated to minimising the use of one of our most precious resources.

Energy Efficiency
Much more than just turning lights off, our use of energy directly impacts our carbon emissions. Guest room management systems and smart sensors in many guestrooms allow for timely use of energy, while building management systems monitor and control energy efficiently yet comfortably.

Waste Management
As well as recycling glass, cardboard, food, oil and grease, batteries, paints and smart compactors, select locations also recycle soft plastics and return our glass bottles to our suppliers after use. Not only that, but you’ll also find waste food being used as repurposed compost in select locations to contribute to the local flora and fauna.

Sustainable Sourcing
Each of our properties undertake stringent sourcing practices that comply with international requirements outlined by governing bodies. Ethically sourced product can be found throughout our destinations, from recycled paper to strict ingredient sourcing in dining establishments.
