Eraeliya Villas and Gardens
On Sri Lanka’s southern coast, Weligama begins with water: the long curve of the bay, the hush of surf against reef and the soft green of gardens sloping towards the Indian Ocean. Eraeliya Villas & Gardens belongs to this rhythm. Conceived as a private coastal retreat rather than a conventional hotel, it brings together ocean-view suites, standalone villas and two lofts within an intimate estate shaped by art, craft and tropical planting. Days unfold quietly here: breakfast on a veranda, a swim as the light changes, fresh seafood by the shore, a massage in the garden, or a late glass of wine as the sea darkens beyond the palms.

Design
Design at Eraeliya is personal and highly collected, with Palladian proportion, Pan-Asian tropical detail, antique furnishings, carved stone baths and handworked pieces gathered into rooms that feel lived-in rather than staged.

Dining
Dining follows the coast and the garden: locally sourced produce, fresh fish, colourful fruit and organic ingredients, served with an ocean view, alongside the intimate wine bistro Kicki & Nonna for slow evenings by the water.

Accommodation is arranged across ten distinct spaces: four ocean-view suites in Villa Bawana, four standalone private villas and two loft suites in the modern Loft House, each with its own sense of privacy and place.

Facilities are quietly woven into the estate: an outdoor pool, sea-facing gardens, Aroma Spa, yoga on request, surfing, cycling, private terraces, outdoor dining and a travel desk for exploring Sri Lanka’s south coast.
